Ani Difranco

Angela Maria Ani DiFranco is an American Canadian singer and songwriter. She has more than twenty albums. DiFranco describes her music under the terms folk-rock and alternative, but it also has influences from punk, hip-hop and jazz. Ani DiFranco was among the first artist to establish her own label in 1990. Ani is widely considered to be a feminist icon. DiFranco was born on the 23rd of September 1970 in Buffalo New York. Her parents were Elizabeth (Ross), from Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and Dante Americo DiFranco. The parents of her mother and father were both of Montreal from Montreal. Ani DiFranco composed and sang 32 Flavors. The track was first released in 1995 on the sixth studio album Not a Pretty Girl. Another version of the song is featured on the film soundtrack for the 1999 Canadian romance film Better Than Chocolate. DiFranco apologized in 2013 after it was revealed that she had set up a three-day workshop at the Louisiana plantation.
